Child Support Modification

August 23, 2013 by Elizabeth McHugh

In Florida, the child support laws and procedures can be difficult to understand and handle on your own.

At Rooney & Rooney, P.A., we strive to take the stress of legal situations off you as much as possible.

Fortunately, child support in Florida is subject to guidelines. There is a system which calculates what the child support payment from either party may be, based on income and other factors.

Child support may be paid through the state registry system, which records and tracks each payment and missed payments.

If there are substantial changes in circumstances, either party may file a petition to modify the child support, and the guidelines are recalculated based upon the new circumstances.

This takes much of the guess-work and arguing out of child support issues. These guidelines make amicable separations with children much easier.

If you are curious about your particular circumstances regarding child support, another family issue, or any legal issue, call our office to schedule a free consultation.
