This week, as I celebrate my seven-year anniversary with Rooney & Rooney, P.A., I find myself thinking of the development of the firm since I started here.

When I came on board, the firm was called Brooker & Rooney, P.A. and it consisted of 3 attorneys and 4 staff members. I was immediately drawn to the Robin Hood spirit I sensed in the Partners. There was a clear desire to stand up for the underdog.

I started as the receptionist and was promoted to legal secretary within 3 weeks. A year later, I was dubbed Paralegal as a result of my Master’s Degree International Business Communication with a major in Legal Translation and after 1 year as a Paralegal, I became the Office Manager.

After becoming Office Manager, I was assigned with the task of expanding the firm into a full service firm to serve the local community. As we have grown and hired more associate attorneys in order to properly diversify without compromising skill-level and competency; we have still maintained the Robin Hood spirit I was so drawn to initially. We now have 5 attorneys in house and 1 of counsel as well as 7 staff members. I am proud to say that I am a part of the Team of Rooney & Rooney, P.A. because I know that we are different and that we actually do care.

So why the seven-year itch? As part of my original task to expand the firm, we are now looking to expand to add an office location in Sebastian. I am itching to create a new location in our local community to bring our clients from Sebastian and Fellsmere closer to their law firm. We will keep you posted as we get closer to settling on a location.

It has been an exciting seven years and I look forward to seeing what the next seven years will have in store for me and all of my family at Rooney & Rooney, P.A.
